Safe Water
When UV-C light irradiates titanium dioxide, it not only aids in disinfection—a direct effect of the UV-C light—but it also produces OH radicals. These radicals are incredibly reactive, with a high redox potential and a brief lifespan. These molecules can break covalent bonds, effectively decomposing organic matter into carbon dioxide and water. This process, known as mineralization, inhibits the growth of biofilm and prevents microbiological reproduction. As a result, there's no need for residual biocides or pH adjusters. This not only reduces corrosion but also diminishes water conductivity.
These reactors are heterogeneous catalysts, with a guaranteed minimum lifetime of 10 years (estimated up to 25 years); energy consumption goes from 0.1 kW to 4.5 kW.
How it Works
No Scaling
When a Cu-Zn galvanic couple is introduced, it releases zinc ions. These ions take the place of the Ca ions within carbonates and bicarbonates, altering the way these salts crystallize. Rather than forming as typical carbonate deposits, the salts turn into a form known as aragonite. While aragonite does precipitate, it doesn't encrust or form hard scales. By controlling its formation, we can prevent an increase in water conductivity.
This absence of scaling creates an environment less conducive to microorganism survival, ensuring better water quality. Furthermore, without scaling, energy efficiency is at its peak. An added advantage of our device is its sustainability: it doesn't consume energy, requires no regular maintenance, and boasts an average lifespan of 7 years.
How it Works
Filtration
OASIS features a filtration system with a 50 µ mesh. This design ensures that solids don't deposit, helping to prevent excessive material oxidation and bacterial growth—issues that typically occur beneath deposited solids. By efficiently removing these solids, we not only maintain water quality but also decrease conductivity. This reduction subsequently minimizes the need for blowdown water. Moreover, the energy consumption of our filtration process is impressively low, further enhancing its efficiency.
How it Works
Disinfection
Our system includes a UV-C radiation unit on the make-up water pipe, which effectively prevents the colonization of micro-organisms. In conjunction with our h2o.TITANIUM unit, which also utilizes UV-C irradiation, we ensure optimal water quality. This synergy, combined with the removal of suspended solids and the prevention of scale formation, keeps the entire system in check. As a result, the count of aerobic microorganisms is maintained at around the 10E3 cfu/ml level. And, needless to say, our system ensures a legionella-free environment.
As for energy efficiency, the system's consumption typically ranges from 0.1 kW/hr to 1.0 kW/hr.
